Teasa Nauta Honored with the Junior Angus Bronze & Silver Pins

Teasa Nauta, Douglas, Wyo., has earned the National Junior Angus Association’s (NJAA) Bronze and Silver Awards.


Teasa is the 19-year-old daughter of Rene’ Nauta and graduated from Douglas High School in May 2008. She is active in the Wyoming Junior Angus Association, where she’s served as secretary and president. Teasa has represented the state as their queen and the members selected her to be their voice as a voting delegate to the NJAA Annual Meeting at the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) for two consecutive years. She has participated in the quiz bowl and extemporaneous speaking contests at the NJAS. Teasa has shown her Angus cattle and participated in showmanship at several shows on the local, state and national levels. Teasa has attended the Leaders Engaged in Angus Development Conference. She joined the NJAA in 2004. more

Telvent reaches agreement to acquire, for $445 million, U.S.-based business information services provider DTN

September 15, 2008. - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire one hundred percent of U.S.-based business information services provider, DTN Holding Company, Inc. (DTN), headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. The acquisition represents an all cash purchase of DTN for a total enterprise value of $445 million U.S. dollars (approx. 310 million Euros), to be financed through a combination of fully funded senior indebtedness and the issuance of common equity. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2008 and is subject to customary regulatory and shareholder approvals. more

The 2008 Red Angus Young Guns Conference was held in Irving, Texas on July 17th – 19th at the Radisson DFW South Hotel. This year’s event, the third annual, drew over 30 participants from across the country with both veteran and rookie attendees. Red Angus breeders from Montana to North Carolina and North Dakota to Texas were represented. First, second and third generation cattlemen joined in the discussion and took part in the interactive program. more

Focus Dams Top Limousin Breed

Maternal efficiency is necessary for profitability in the cow-calf business. Each year, the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF) honors the elite cows in its registry with inclusion on the Focus Dams list. Only 115 proven cows and 174 prospect females, together representing less than 1 percent of the breed’s active dams, earned mention during the fall 2008 evaluation. more
