Partnership Donates Nearly $500,000 to Local FFA Chapters

NEW YORK (March 27, 2009) - Through a collaboration of 830 veterinarians, animal health suppliers and Pfizer Animal Health, nearly $500,000 has been donated to local FFA chapters across the country. Through purchases of Pfizer Animal Health’s vaccines, veterinarians and animal health suppliers were able to donate to a local FFA chapter of their choice. more

Amarillo to Host National Junior Limousin Show, All-American Limousin Futurity

The Texas Limousin Association (TLA) will host the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC) at the Tri-State Expo Complex and the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo, July 11–17. Colvin to “hang” in Saddle & Sirloin Gallery

WOOSTER, OHIO – March 11, 2009 – Only one honored stockman each year can win a spot in the hallowed hall of fame in Louisville, Ky. Officials of the Kentucky State Fair Board have announced that Louis M. “Mick” Colvin will receive the 2009 Saddle & Sirloin Portrait Award. Colvin’s portrait will be hung in November in the historic gallery at the Kentucky State Fair and Exposition Center. The Saddle & Sirloin gallery honors pioneers in animal agriculture, with the earliest portraits of European stockmen from the 1700s. more

UNL’s Block and Bridle Names Homer Buell of Bassett Hall of Fame Honoree

LINCOLN, Neb. — Homer Buell, a rancher and past president of Nebraska Cattlemen, will be honored as the 75th member of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Block and Bridle Hall of Fame.


The Bassett native will be honored April 24 at the Department of Animal Science and Block and Bridle annual honors banquet at 6:30 p.m. at the Nebraska East Union on UNL’s East Campus. New Data Finds Parasite Control Critical to Cattle Profitability
