Hobart Brothers Expands Manufacturing Operations
• New facility to add 40 jobs to local economy
• Expansion reflects strength of welding industry
TROY, Ohio, September 30, 2008 - Hobart Brothers Company www.hobartbrothers.com is pleased to announce the expansion of its manufacturing operations into a new 65,000-square-foot facility located in Troy, Ohio. The new facility will be used to increase production capacity for the company’s welding consumables.
“We continue to see increases in both domestic and international demand for welding consumables, and are pleased to be able to invest in this expansion to support our growth” said Grant Harvey, Vice President and General Manager.
Hobart Brothers anticipates an additional 40 people will be added to its workforce once the new plant is at capacity. Construction on the new building is scheduled to begin the week of September 2, 2008 and will be completed by Spring 2009.
Incorporated in 1917, and then acquired by Illinois Tool Works in 1996, Hobart Brothers Company is a leading manufacturer of welding consumables. Other Hobart Brothers manufacturing facilities are located in Piqua, Ohio, and Woodstock Ontario, Canada.
