Amarillo to Host 2009 National Junior Limousin Show

The Limousin breed will head south for its 2009 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC) and All-American Limousin Futurity (AALF).

The Tri-State Fairgrounds and the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo, Texas, will host the “Big Texas Shindig 2” NJLSC July 11–17, 2009. The weeklong, family-oriented event will include membership meetings, cattle shows, showmanship competitions and a variety of satellite events. It all helps young Limousin enthusiasts have fun while they learn about the beef industry, public speaking, marketing and leadership.

About 200 exhibitors and their families (600 to 800 people total) will bring about 400 head of cattle to the event. The concluding awards banquet will recognize participants’ achievements.

The purpose of the North American Limousin Junior Association (NALJA) and its NJLSC is to develop knowledgeable, motivated beef industry leaders while promoting the Limousin breed through fellowship, leadership and education.

The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Centennial, Colo., provides programs and services – including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires – to more than 4,000 members and their commercial customers. The Limousin breed and its Lim-Flex® hybrid lead the beef industry in muscle-growth efficiency and ideally complement British breeds.
