OLLERICH APPOINTED FEEDLOT SERVICES MANAGER FOR ABS GLOBAL

ollerich.jpgDEFOREST, WISCONSIN – July 23, 2008 – Ryan Ollerich has joined ABS Global, Inc. as Feedlot Services Manager.


“The addition of Ryan to the ABS staff symbolizes our commitment to enhancing profit opportunities for breeders and feeders of high quality cattle,” said Darrell Wilkes, U.S. Beef Supply Systems Manager. “Many feedlots are content feeding average commodity cattle, but a growing number of them seek genetically superior cattle that gain faster, gain cheaper, and are worth more when they’re finished,” Wilkes added. “We are pleased to have someone of Ryan’s caliber and experience on staff to help connect the breeders of high end cattle with the feeders who want to feed them.” more

Owen, Dugger Win Champion Horned Hereford Female Titles

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Randa Owen, Ft. Payne, Ala., took home national champion horned female honors at the ninth annual Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), July 19 in Kansas City.

Tyler Cates, Modoc, Ind., judged 701 owned heifers, including 181 horned females. In the championship drive Cates commented, “I admire your breed for being able to excel in many facets of the beef industry, whether it is commercial bulls, raising powerful females, or outstanding youth.” more

149 Entries Parade at All-American Limousin Futurity

The All-American Limousin Futurity (AALF) was July 18 in Sioux Falls, S.D., in conjunction with the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC). The AALF is one of the North American Limousin Foundation’s (NALF’s) four major Medal of Excellence (MOE) shows.

Frank Jackson, Windom, Minn., sorted 19 purebred Limousin bulls, 62 purebred Limousin females, 13 Lim-Flex® bulls and 27 Lim-Flex females. Kelly Bruns, Brookings, S.D., evaluated eight bulls and 20 females in the fullblood Limousin show. more
